Get back fast
Everything above gets you the inquiry. This decides whether you keep it, and it is the only one that costs nothing to fix.
What this actually is
Someone with a problem contacts three businesses in about five minutes and then gets on with their day. The first useful reply is usually the one they go with, because by then they've stopped looking.
Nobody is comparing your quote against the other two if the other two haven't answered yet.
This has nothing to do with marketing and everything to do with whether anything is watching the inbox at seven in the evening.
What we do about it
- ✓Acknowledge every inquiry immediately, with something specific rather than a receipt.
- ✓Route it to wherever you actually look, so it isn't sitting in a form inbox nobody opens.
- ✓Follow up once if it goes quiet, so a lead isn't lost to one missed message.
How you know it's broken
- →Inquiries land in a website inbox you check on Sundays.
- →You reply the next morning and they've already booked someone.
- →You don't know how many you've lost this way, because you never heard from them again.
How the free check scores this
It isn't. Reply time cannot be seen from outside a business, so the checker never scores it and never counts it in the total — anyone showing you four out of four from the outside is making one of them up. The checker does ask you what happens to an inquiry on a Saturday evening, and tells you what that costs, but your answer sits beside the score rather than inside it. It becomes a real measurement once inquiries come through something that can time them, which is one of the things we set up.
Check my score, freeThat happy customer leaves a review, which is what sends the next person back to step one. Who They Call runs all four every month.
