Running a check stores nothing about you

You can put your website address into the free checker without giving a name, an email, or creating an account. We do not store the address you checked, the result, or anything identifying you unless you then choose to send it to us using the form.

That is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight. The page says the check is free with no signup and nothing emailed to you, and this policy exists to hold us to that.

What the checker actually does

It fetches the address you give it and reads the page's public HTML — the same thing any browser or search engine does when it visits a public website. It looks at a handful of the usual contact pages on that site as well.

It queries the Google Places API to find the Google Business listing that matches that website, so it can read the public review count and listing details. That request is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy.

It does not log in anywhere, does not submit any forms, and does not collect anything that is not already public.

Only enter an address you own or are authorized to check.

What we keep when you get in touch

If you send us your score using the form, we store your email address, your name if you gave one, the website address you checked, and a snapshot of the score and findings you were shown. We keep the snapshot so that when we reply we are talking about the same report you saw.

If you email directly, we keep the email.

What we do with it

Reply to you, and if you become a client, do the work and keep records of it.

We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with data brokers. We do not add you to a marketing list, and there is no newsletter to be subscribed to. If you never reply to our first email, you will not hear from us again unless you write back.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to see which pages get used. No cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles, and nothing that identifies you individually.

Where it lives

Data is stored with our hosting and database providers, who process it on our behalf and are bound to keep it confidential. Email is sent through a transactional email provider.

Deleting it

Email ryan@whotheycall.com and ask, and we will delete everything we hold about you and confirm when it is done. You do not need to give a reason, and it will not be made awkward.

Children

This is a service for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the current version.
